Seam Carving for Content-aware Image Resizing

The 34th International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques had alluded me. I have a feeling that it alluded a lot of people. It's one of those conferences that aren't as attractive as some of the others. It definitely is no Maker Fair. I think though that some pretty exciting things still come out of it. How about an image resizing technology that could easily become a web standard?

I'm wondering what kind of power the technology would require? Will it create a larger gap between slow-end computers and newer, faster ones? Will we see a rise in "alt-text" being used? That's a scary thought, seeing as how my laptop is over 5 years old now.

Viral "Middling Earth Institute" video

It may be skirting the edge of staying on topic for my blog, but I had to post it. Not only is it hilarious, but it's viralicious.

I'm sure some folks over on youtube will be cutting the Middling Earth Institute skit, because that's what people want to see, but also because X-Play tacked in on to the end of one of their video game reviews.

X-Play: Do more, you always have hits with the comedy skits, but this one is the crowning jewel.

To make sure there's no confusion, the actual clip I'm talking about being viral, starts a little over the half-way point-right after Adam Sessler's review of the game "Dungeon Maker".

Racist Crazy Racists Hoping RE5 Is Racist

In response to Gamespot's news article "Resident Evil 5 Stirs Concerns of Racism"

I love people and organizations that feel they have to nip racism in the bud by rooting out the evil before it pops its head out. I also love the movie "Minority Report". Now what was it that movie taught us?

I'm sick of racism spreading anti-americans. They want racism alive and thriving so they have a viable reason to hate someone which ironically is being a racist themeslves(and I'd be willing to bet they found a lucrative business in it as well). Really, if you think about it, African-american's ancestry invented zombiism. So in the sense that they are rooting out speculative concerns of racism, they're plan backfired, because essentially they're calling themselves racists.
